The day-ahead auctions on the electricity wholesale market changed from hourly to 15 minute products on 1 October. The greater resolution reflects electricity generation with a finer granularity and enables more dynamic responses to short-term fluctuations, supporting the integration of renewables.

Unfortunately, there were some unforeseen technical problems during the switch, which meant that the new prices were not initially accessible via SMARD. These problems have now been resolved and the correct, 15-minute prices can be viewed on the site. They are available both under “Market data visuals” and under “Data download” as of 1 October.
