Update: SMARD data gaps
Technical problems at ENTSO-E resulted in large data gaps on SMARD
For several days, the time series for electricity generation were not being displayed accurately on the start page or in the “Market data visuals” section. This is due to a technical problem affecting the transparency platform operated by the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).
The data displayed under “Market data visuals” is obtained by SMARD from ENTSO-E under section 11d of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) (Energiewirtschaftsgesetz, in German) and the Electricity Transparency Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 543/2013). The European transmission system operators, including the four German transmission system operators, submit their calculated generation and consumption data to ENTSO-E.
Significant delays across Europe in the publication of data on ENTSO-E’s transparency platform led to gaps in the data for several days. As SMARD only publishes the figures reported and no estimated figures, the data was incomplete and so there were gaps in the time series as well.
ENTSO-E has posted a short message about the data gaps. The missing data for 23 October has now been uploaded and is available on SMARD.
