Household customer prices stable in February

-

The household customer prices for electricity and gas modelled by the Bundesnetzagentur showed little change. Industrial electricity prices decreased slightly.

For household electricity customers the new customer price modelled in February was 34.61 ct/kWh, and for existing customers the price was 34.96 ct/kWh. The figures were practically unchanged from the previous month.

In February the modelled dynamic electricity price was 35.43 ct/kWh, a decline of 4.6% compared with January.

The industrial electricity price including all possible reductions at 9.54 ct/kWh was 7.3% less than the previous month’s figure of 10.30 ct/kWh. The industrial electricity price without any reductions was 15.07 ct/kWh, some 4.8% less than the price in the previous month of 15.83 ct/kWh.

The household customer price for new gas customers was 9.60 ct/kWh in February, the same as for the previous month, while the price for existing customers was stable at 10.51 ct/kWh.

The Bundesnetzagentur is paying close attention to developments in the Middle East. There are price effects on the world markets that could become noticeable in Germany depending on how long the conflict lasts. These price effects do not directly impact longer term contracts, such as those held by private households, as they have price guarantees.
