Latest developments in electricity and gas price indices
The index for new electricity customers is higher, while the other indices for electricity and gas are lower. The modelled industrial electricity prices are slightly higher than in the previous month.
The household customers price index for new electricity customers for August has increased by 0.5 points to 111.2 points. By contrast, the index for existing customers is 0.7 points down at 113.9 points.
The household customers price indices for new and existing gas customers have fallen. The index for new customers is 167.7 points, 1.2 points down on the previous month’s figure, while the index for existing customers is 1.1 points down at 171 points.
The modelled industrial electricity prices rose slightly in July. The price for customers without reductions was 16.79 ct/kWh, up 0.65 ct/kWh on the previous month. The price for customers with the maximum price reductions was 10.49 ct/kWh, also up 0.65 ct/kWh on the month before.
