Modelled electricity prices higher in August

The electricity prices for household and industrial customers calculated by the Bundesnetzagentur were higher than in July. New gas customers also paid more than in the month before.

The modelled electricity prices for new and existing customers increased in August. The price for new customers in August was 37.63 ct/kWh, compared with 36.20 ct/kWh in July. The price for existing customers rose slightly from 35.61 ct/kWh in July to 35.64 ct/kWh in August.

The dynamic electricity price increased from 36.15 ct/kWh in July to 38.88 ct/kWh in August.

The electricity price for industrial customers including all possible reductions rose from 11.75 ct/kWh in July to 12.76 ct/kWh in August, while the price without any reductions increased from 17.68 ct/kWh to 18.69 ct/kWh.

The modelled gas price for new household customers was 10.87 ct/kWh, compared with 10.47 ct/kWh in July. The price for existing customers fell slightly from 10.38 ct/kWh in July to 10.34 ct/kWh in August.
