Power plant capacity can be divided into two categories: capacity that participates in the electricity market and capacity outside the electricity market. The chart shows power plant capacity that is not provided in the normal electricity market but only made available at the TSOs' request. This capacity is subject to other requirements and rules.

* Power plants in the grid reserve that are important for the system under section 13b of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and the Act to Reduce and End Coal-Fired Power Generation (KVBG) as well as power plants in the capacity reserve that are operated only at the TSOs' request to ensure security of supply in accordance with section 13e EnWG.
** Power in the capacity reserve corresponds to information provided by the power plant operator in accordance with the Core Energy Market Data Register Ordinance (MaStRV).
