Have you heard about the user guide? (last updated 1 April 2021)

The SMARD user guide provides an introduction to the whole platform. It describes the different areas and all the functions and is updated whenever there are any changes. It is currently only available in German, but an English version will be available in the near future.

Did you know, for example, that when you go to "German electricity market" you can look at time series for generation by individual power plants? Power plants with an installed generating capacity of 100 MW or more are required by law to provide these data. So you can enter a search term and postcode and select various other filter options to look for a power plant you know. You can download the time series when you go to "Data download".

The user guide also explains which data are available on the SMARD website, for example which information can be found under "System stability" or "Residual load" and details of the platform's data and legal basis.

It also answers questions that users may have on issues like data definitions, the benefits of setting up a user account and sharing content via social media or email. You can also find out how to display charts in black and white or display the data in tables.

The SMARD guide has all this and a lot more!
